mmm I recomend you try Tucano Urbano neoprene muffs - had mine 5 years/winters(£40 and recent posts on here - two types one for bar end fitting, one for non bar end) before the heated grips route... summer gloves on all but the very coldest days... and my muffs are prolly going back on soon!
Problem with heated grips is that the top / outside of ya hand still gets cold and wet!
Plus most larger scoots (125+) dont usually have a kick start, and ya cant bump start a scoot...
You will get more than cold hands if the bugger won't start!
If you find the muffs not toasty enough - and add heated grips - they will be even more effective tucked up inside the muffs...

I use a combination of muffs and heated grips . The best heated grips i have found to be the R&G ones and good value too . The worst ones which i have at present are the KEIS ones . The throttle grip gets hot bur the other is only warm and it appears from my supplier that they are all the same ,most people improved this by using insulation tape on the bar and then refitting the left grip .There is the other route of beringer heated gloves or inner gloves even bar wind deflectors work very well . The choice is yours .

Yes. You should be able to operate all the controls as normal - or else its dangerous! The only snag is the Tmax's parking brake lever...

Depends on the bike / scoots controls...
With the small neoprene Tucano Urbano (More a Brake lever and Grip Cover than encompasing all the switch gear etc) - there is a little extra thump bit that helps get to the indicator switch / horn button - that are out side of the muff...
Some scoots have the relevant switches flush to the facias rather than like std motorcyle switch gear...
Soon get used to it - only thing you can't really get to is the 'Pass' switch... again depens on ya switch gear
Benefit is that the muffs are far smaller and more air tight / wind proof...

I've had three Oxford heated grips all shit all broken after one winter. Got some gerbings heated gloves which are great they heat the outside of the fingers. Lifetime warranty too. A trickle charger is a good investment with the heated stuff as there will be a drain on your battery.

I liked then so much I got the heated jacket to go with them

Having said all of the above, I'm tempted by the handle bar muff option as it's a nice simple solution and no fannying around with cables

I have been toying with the idea of heated grips too but decided to get Tucano Urbano muffs instead.

I only ordered them this morning so cant really say what they are like

After suffering every winter wearing summer gloves, don't like bulky gloves I have decided to go for the Tucano muffs and I to have ordered them this morning I have some Keis heated gloves so should be warm toasty and dry.
