Baby Burg 200??

I have no doubt that I missed something, having recently joined the muppets (and so far having been allowed to remain here ) but I would like to know what has become of the Suzuki Burg 200.

I have let my AN400 go because I want a lighter and not so 'all conquering' scooter as the AN400 is/was. Don't get me wrong, the 400 burg is a great bit of kit and was a joy for my trips to London from Plymouth.

So, I am continuing on with my mini scoot for the commute and considering other slightly bigger scoots just for that ability to do the odd dual cabbageway run.

The baby Burgers have been reborn - they are more or less the same as before, but the front end styling has changed and they are now built in Thailand rather than Spain. I assume that Suzuki intend to continue selling them in the UK, but I haven't checked. They did seem to sell a few beforehand.

I used to own a 200 model - it was rather an executive commuter than a tourer. Its a small scoot, and even the 200 isn't really a M-way cruiser as it only had 18bhp so top whack was around 75 or so. It was comfortable round town, though the suspension was a bit primitive and was hopelessly confused by bumpy rural roads. Good luggage space though. Mine was an ideal commuter scoot for me, but became infected with seemingly incurable electrical gremlins, so it went.

200 seems to be a wierd engine size now

cbt holders cant ride them nd they are not much quicker then the 125cc
and people with licences can ride bigger so tend to have 300-400cc instead as still fairly cheap to run

Thanks, It won't be a huge leap up from my current scoot in terms of speed perhaps, better weather protection etc etc though. Cross that off my list then.

I'll keep to my thoughts of a 300.

I han't considered the license angle. And you know what? I couldn't begin to understand the new license regs theses days nor even be bothered to check

Passed in '85 just bombing around the block a couple of times by a CB900-shod instructor who was stood on the corner of the street!
