Post by maxsymiser »

Hi all, any maxsym riders fitted a rear carrier to there machines, which make and what weight limit. Coming up to 5000m on the maxsym loving every minute riding it, got electric jacket and gloves wired up so "what cold days". Cheers

Glad you are having fun with the 400 I love mine and I need to think long and hard if I want to change it for a 600. Have you tried a Brisk sports plug you will be amazed at the difference it makes especially at low speed. i dont need a rear rack and I dont like top boxes but here is a link to the SYM one.

Steve from SYMUK is a member on here so he may have a comment. Do tell me more about heated jackets etc, difficult to wire in?

Bought a Brisk plug for my Hyosung ms3 125 which was having a starting problem, the scooter started first go with the Brisk but wouldn,t rev so refitted the iridium plug, so will try the Brisk in the max. I agree don,t like top box but i had one for the v strom so will use it for longer tour,s only. I have a Gerbing heated jacket and gloves had them ages wouldnt be without them just wired straight to the battery with the lead coming out from the glove box thingy i,m trying to source a female surface mounted plug to make it neat . That is some tent you have!

I read somewhere that the Brisk plug does not do well with some engines but on the Max it works a treat. No throttle lag, so smooth at slow speeds, its a joy. Dont try to follow the handbook for changing the plug. Take off the lower nearside panel ( " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ), and go up from underneath with a ratchet plug holder. I got one of these cables to power my sat sav it comes with a female plug and a range of male adaptors. It runs up through a small hole that you will find above the battery compartment and out by the handle bars. I have then run mine up through the bar cowling so that it comes out by the right brake fluid reservoir. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260735362724? ... 1439.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Is that the big tent with the garage you were talking about , I have changed it for a smaller one (see my review) because once I retire next year I am going to do lots of touring so I wanted something that was quicker to put up and down. Its also the reason I may go for a 600 next year

What mileage have you done and what MPG are you getting, i,m a bit disappointed that the 650 vstrom got the same 69MPG it is getting better as i put more miles on. Has the Brisk plug made any difference to MPG?

I have done about 3300 and get about 62mpg. It's getting better now it's getting looser. The Brisk plug dies not seem to have effected the mpg
