Re: Apron leg cover
I have had lap covers on a couple of scooters which are fitted to them by straps and screws and have been very pleased with them in winter. They kept me warm and dry.
However I thought I would give one of those lap covers that you strap around your waist a try as they are a fraction of the price and promise more flexibility and so bought the HELD 9807 Thermal Scooter Leg Rain Cover for £29.99.
The quality is fine BUT on my first use it billowed up and because of the central tunnel on my Tmax it doesn't sit as nicely as it would on a vespa.
It only has a waist strap, so what I am going to do is attach some elasticated straps to the bottom of each side of the apron and either hook them over the passenger footrests or passenger grab handles - haven't decided which yet.
Will let you know how I get on but it may not be for a while yet.

I hate lap covers and bar muffs, just buy a good quality trousers and lobster claw gloves.

Re: Apron leg cover
Fitted one on the Maxsym, took a bit of getting used to ( need to get in the habit of moving feet back before putting down). However it does keep one very dry and warm, I am going away again next week and once again using the scoot to go to Gatwick. The return flight gets in at midnight so looking forward to a cosy ride home. I got a Tucano one and the fit and quality is excellent. I got mine from this Italian site which was far cheaper than I could get it in the UK and their customer service and delivery was spot on. http://www.tagoscooter.com/en/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But for me, this is where the concept breaks down - yes, you can then ride in smart shoes and trousers, which is great - until you crash, when you'd like to be wearing something less smart but more protective.Meldrew wrote:I For collar and tie city commuters they're very practical, they allow you to ride in just a bike jacket and you can cover your smart shoes and trousers with the apron.

Re: Apron leg cover
Been using bar muffs for over 10 years...wouldn't be without them. Mine were from Bagster/Baglux and are still going strong
