I have a Mk 2 Tmax with Yamaha wind deflectors for my hands, which work fairly well. I am thinking about buying Mk 4 Tmax, however the Mk4 fairing style seems to leave the hands a little more exposed, and there appear to be no Yamaha wind deflectors available.
Are there any third party deflectors available and have you fitted them? I ask because of a recent European trip with several bikes which had hand guards. In the rain, their gloves were dry, while mine were distinctly damp, with my partially-effective wind deflectors. If I had had no hand protection, my gloves would have been soaked!

Re: T-max Mk4 owners question
I bought these! Came very quickly & pretty effective, though I don't think I've ridden the mk4 in really heavy rain yet.

Thanks for the prompt reply! How are they fixed? I can see two bolt heads, but don't know what is behind them.

Re: T-max Mk4 owners question
Some heated grips should finish the job off nicely, I fitted some 'intelligent' Oxford heated grips, dead easy as the battery is in the compartment behind the mobile phone tray to the left of the handlebars.

Re: T-max Mk4 owners question
I dunno - I got someone else to fit them! There is a bolt that goes through the brake levers I think - its replaced by a longer bolt they supply, and there is a horizontal bar thats fixed to that bolt. The shield bit is then bolted to the horizontal bar. They forgot the bits that secure the bar to the shield bit, but normal nuts & bolts work fine. It would be clearer if they showed a photo of the transparent guards rather than the black ones.Chocky wrote:Thanks for the prompt reply! How are they fixed?
