Bad tyre habit

Post by Bluebottle »

I seem to have squared off my tyres in no time flat on the burgman, it rode like crap on the twisty bits on the recent Matlock rideout.

Thinking about why they lasted such a short time I realised I've been doing loads of motorway but also I have a habit of flattening out the bends and using the whole road - result = chicken strips take up the almost the whole tyre.

Must remember to do more corners on the next set.

I've done it and it works just be careful surform doesn't snatch lock throttle so wheel spins go in gently at first as you shape it it gets easier

We could call it the Burgman ring!
I wake up every morning with a smile upon my face,
My natural exuberance spills out all over the place!

I think ive been going through them too often rather than round them - making the curve shallow or straight by using both sides of the road etc (when it's safe obviously).
Not usually a problem but add the extra motorway miles and the bike is rarely getting any lean.
Pressures might be a bit high too because the shouldered area is pretty narrow.
