Second fill up on the Berg tomorrow so will do a calc to see what she is doing to the tank, hit 170 on the trip tonight and it's only just in the red zone. Does a fuel warning light come on if you run it even lower? My read out says 16.6 miles/litre which works out at 77.5 mpg.

No Light, just red section to keep an eye out of to test your bravery
About 175miles is what i was brave enough for a tank. Central london summer time though. Winter it goes down to 160 max.

MY K3 Burgman does 75mpg and it's fuel guage does what the hell it wants! It's as truthful as a politician!
Everytime I ride it I just reset the tripometer and fill up at 180miles.

Re: Mileage per tank full?
mj, I get about 180 miles before I look for fuel. That's general running about on country roads with some dual carriageways. But on a longer motorway run I can go 200 miles before looking. I reckon she goes about 230-240 miles in most circumstances before she is running on fumes if you are going easy with the throttle, but I'm not brave enought to try that!
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Mileage per tank full?
Sounds good for a 400...
My new XMax400 is returning 66 mpg, averaged out over 9 fill-ups of around 9 lts...
Not always waiting for the light to come on, and looks like there is a little more room after the pump auto-shut off, Handbook states a tank capacity of 14.8 lts,
with a 2 lt reserve when the fuel light goes on... maybe 1 - 2 more to brim it - after the pumps auto shut off - so theoretical range of 200 miles Looks like it prefers a run, even spirited (68 mpg), than the stop-start commute (63 mpg)
Old 250 Xmax was returning 80mpg...

Re: Mileage per tank full?
I've got a dinky one for a maxi - a mere 10 litres - and it's sensitive to the terrain - especially when going down steep hills.
I generally get 120 miles before the fuel gauge flashes. When it's really low there's a yellow warning light too.
To fill it to the brim usually takes 7-8 litres and I feel psychologically 'happier' when it has a full tank.
The MPG is around 80 with the stock windscreen in summer and around 75mpg in the winter with the wind and the rain and the Fabbri screen fitted.

If you want to be incrementally better: Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better: Be cooperative.

Re: Mileage per tank full?
Paul, I still reckon you'll get better mpg's after she has a couple of thousand more miles on her and the engine has done a bit more conforming. It will be interesting to see how much extra mpg though. Have you noticed a little more power at this stage?

Re: Mileage per tank full?
Sh300i which has given an average of 77mpg so far. All I need out of the 9.5l tank capacity is 2 days commuting of 120 miles, so its doable as my calculations reckon i only need 7 litres for that.

Using a bit more of the twist grip now i've done the 1000 miles, and changed the oil and filter myself...Data wrote:Paul, I still reckon you'll get better mpg's after she has a couple of thousand more miles on her and the engine has done a bit more conforming. MPG looks fairly consistant, slightly better than the Maj400's listed on Fuelly - any more will be a bonus!
