Just got round to fitting the Givi screen on the X10 (never was happy with the standard screen). It's so much better at keeping the wind and weather off me. though I did have to cut approx 45mm off the top so I could just see over the top in the rain, without it affecting wind protection. Well worth the effort.
some before and after pics.... (or possibly after and before!!)

X10 Givi screen
I usually don't like extra large screens but this one matches the x10 perfectly.

Re: X10 Givi screen
yes it looks NOT overpowering, cant see the diff, must be my old eyes, i thought of one on the nexus, but when i lower the settings to low, for motorway driving it seems to be fine, still get a bit of wind but keeps me fresh
and do little motorways, which is a pity
hope in a few years when the last two kids are older, i might eventually get a few camping weekends in
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Re: X10 Givi screen
givi screens do do a good job of deflecting wind in all but the heaviest of down pours if moving at speed, I've had a similar one on my burgman for 9 or so yrs as I got fed up with the crap standard burgman one, you certainly notice your fatigue levels are extended with the new'n on. Is there no support arm on yours? looks like it's just attached along the bottom edge?

Did you cut the 45mm off? I have one but was going to wait until winter to fit. If you did cut it down how easy is it?

I bet cutting it off is easy, but doing a good job of it is harder!! It does look good though.frankiej1949 wrote:Did you cut the 45mm off? I have one but was going to wait until winter to fit. If you did cut it down how easy is it?

Re: X10 Givi screen
Yes I did it myself. Took a leap of faith (and a beer) the first time (this is the third scooter i've cut a screen down in size). Started by making a card template of the top curve. then cut the template at the mid point and added an appropriate card 'spacer' (as the screen is a bit wider lower down, and I wanted to retain the same curve the screen originally had......if you see what I mean). Stuck masking tape on both sides of the screen generously covering the cutting line, which I drew (using the widened template) on both sides with a bold marker pen. Then (with a steady nerve) I proceeded to cut, first from one side of the screen, to the middle, and then the other side to the middle (which, if all goes to plan is a seamless joinfrankiej1949 wrote:Did you cut the 45mm off? The second and third times, I did on my own (but I wasn't quite so scared). Also, because the radius on the corners were greater, I did extra cuts on the corners
(so four cuts all together) and smoothed out with the wet 'n dry.
Hope that makes sense
Why wait 'til winter.... the weather is shitty enough already
Good luck if you do try it, but don't blame me.......

Yes, you're right, no support arms, but it's pretty sturdy and is fixed below the fairing with 3 bolts and 'double' rubber washers on either side.MT606 wrote:givi screens do do a good job of deflecting wind in all but the heaviest of down pours if moving at speed, I've had a similar one on my burgman for 9 or so yrs as I got fed up with the crap standard burgman one, you certainly notice your fatigue levels are extended with the new'n on. Nice looking scoot and screen. Im 5'9" and I have bought the Givi screen for my Piaggio X8, my Honda PCX 125, and now for my Yamaha Majesty 400. Each time I have found the Givi to be better (quieter and more wind protection) than the standard screens.
