Re: Honda's 'New Large'?
looks like the Tmax but yes wonder if it'll have DCT.
I'm leaning towards a VFR 1200 DCT, quick smack me before I do something stupid!

Not really a step-through is it.
A T-Max is useable as a step-through this Honda looks like a step over, think it might be more suited to those drabville fans – at least it will give more power and weather protection.
Interesting concept for a machine but not really my cup of tea.

Re: Honda's 'New Large'?
I've been wondering about this. Honda teased journalists with talk of a 'new concept' larger than N700 touring / commuting bike, and showed some weird drawing that looked a bit like a cruiser or a DN01.
My speculation is that if the N700 is 2 cylinders off a Honda Jazz, maybe this will be 3 cylinders off a Jazz, ie around 1000cc, but possibly like the 700, not overly powerful but torquey. This would neatly fit between the 700cc bikes and Honda top line models (VFR 1200, Cross Tourer, Pan). Such a thing might be a good replacement for the Deauville, and even the bikes with the old V4 800cc engine.
Honda did exhibit the fab E4-01 scooter/bike concept a few years ago - maybe if there is a scooter version of this new bike, some of the E4 ideas could come to fruition (looks a bit like the visordown drawing). And the E4-01 had a 900cc triple as well! (and shaft drive).
We shall see!

This stunning high performance machine should have been Honda's next scooter.
900cc triple, shaft drive....if only, but they chickened out.

Re: Honda's 'New Large'?
Those were the days when Honda did clever things....I have a horrible feeling that whatever Honda are about to produce will not be wonderful. I mean, if a company can design the Integra and call it a scooter....wozza wrote:This stunning high performance machine should have been Honda's next scooter.
