Piaggio out Burger the Burgman.

Post by macamxthe1st »

Kevin Ash (highly respected) has a "First ride" piece in MCN on the new Piaggio X10. In a nutshell he says that it is a better scooter in every respect and at £4,999 it is £1,400 cheaper than the comparable 400AZ. I will wait till latter in the year to see what if anything Suzuki come up with but the X10 looks the best bet at the moment.

Don't forget the maxsym 400... bigger wheels.. better built than piaggio... I know.. I had an x8 for 3 years... same price as piaggio but with 24 months interest free and 3 years warranty... I got one 4 weeks ago... have put on over 1000 mile already... awesome bike.. simples :-)

Tbh I was gonna get a burger... but once I saw the maxsym in the flesh it won me over... it is a burger 400 clone.. but with added best bits like the larger wheels and led lights.. mine does have ABS too ... also.. It runs at 70 mph at only 5000 rpm and is really food on mpg... am currently running at 77 mpg... and as It runs In more it will only get better... finally have. Had loadsa good things said about Its looks from bikers.... one chap on a BMW 1200 tourer if it was a bike... or a scooter with attitude lol... I love it !

No ABS on either Sym or the Kymco.

Might not be a reason not to buy for some, but for me it totally rules them out.

SYM have has 2 years 0% for ages now.

With referance to the SYM being better built than a Piaggio, yes it does appear better than an X8/Xevo but have you seen the latest Piaggios? The new Beverleys are leagues ahead of the older Piaggios and the X10 should be the same.

Of course itll work in the rain too

I wouldnt buy a Maxsym over either the Burgman or X10, yes it looks nice but its exactly what it looks like, a Burgman clone but slightly poorer quality.... to me its like one of those fake Rolex watches.

I hope the 350 X10 lives up to the hype surrounding the engine, as Id like it to be my next scooter :D
