Which SatNav would you recommend ?

I need to buy a sat nav and Im looking at either the TomTom Rider Europe or the Garmin Zumo 660.
If you have either one of them, I'd like to know if you'd recommend it.
Also I would be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of where to buy a brake fluid RAM mount thingy.
I will be buying a SENA SMH10 bluetooth headset as opposed to going for the Scala, and your thought or comments on these are also appreciated.

I used to have a TomTom 5xx and it was very good, till it died.
Lately i've been using an iPhone 4S and Navigon. It is also very good, with the exception it dosent do waypoint stops between A and B easily like the TomTom did.

Probably not much help sorry... but theyve all got a lot better than 10 years ago when they were frankly dodgy as.

Ive been using a Tom Tom start for two years with no issues. It just sticks to the screen using its sucker mount and doesnt get wet as the screen stops that, £99 inc European maps.

I would'nt bother if i were you, i have one that i have tried on 3 or 4 different bikes/scoots...
it will shake it to death....

I've got the Zumo 660 and it works for me.
The fact that it's waterproof was one of my reasons for buying it.
Ed's just bought one from Amazon - it was/is on offer so have a look quickly!*

I bought the special brake-fluid reservoir cover for the Silverwing from MotorcycleLarry in the States as the covers are longer than the standard RAM ones. I don't know what size the Burgman ones are.**

I bought an "end of line" cheapo Navman sat nav for £40 and stick it in a waterproof phone cover. I fasten it to the centre of my bars with the straps from bicycle toe clips.

Basic but maps are up to date and it is no biggie if it gets nicked/damaged. Glare can be an issue so I'm still looking for a better location nearer my eye line. I intended routing the audio into my helmet speakers some day by breaking into the speaker wire with a flying lead/jack plug.

But then I only use it as a backup to planning on a map beforehand and reading road signs because I'm old fashioned and don't trust sat navs. Handy to zero in on somewhere though once I get myself to the neighberhood.

I use the rider 2 by tomtom. Never had a problem with it. Easy to use, is quite happy to cope with me going off route when I feel like it. Comes wit an option of mounts which are all reasonable and I have never had a problem with it coming loose of vibrating to much to see.

I have to disagree... Pricing a product 4 times of a competitor that's one of the most popular brands would have to justify itself by more than just saying it's better quality.

I have to admit i didn't compare the two products side by side before writing this, so feel free to prove me wrong but unless it sings and dances i'd never pay that much for a satnav.

I personally use my 5 yr old tomtom one which works fine on most occasions. For using on the bike, i duct taped the suction mount to the handlebar on my burgman and tmax as i only rarely need to use it. If i was on the market for a permanent mounting solution, i'd either go for the ram mount or a DIY solution similar to the one that was posted in here some time ago.

Edit: Just realised tomtom rider is around £250-£350 so garmin is not 4 times the price after all Comparing a £100 basic tomtom to a motorcycle satnav solution from garmin is not fair either, so it's a closer call than initially thought between the two devices at £250-£400...
