Hi, just been out to pick my son up from school, ten mile trip, then did the same again, had a listen, the nexus was fully up to temp

when turn key on: just a slight click only

when turn key off: just a slight click only

so there is a difference from cold engine to hot engine

yep eveything points to it, are you getting bens? as that would be a straight switch

Yes I'm getting Ben's one on Saturday. Interesting about the noise as Dave/Tmax9 says (see below) there shouldn't be any noise. Also it doesn't sound like its ideal to swap them over, but as the stepper motor isn't removable I really dont have much choice. Might be able to pull the old one about a bit more once I have Bens TB fitted. I guess it can always go into Scootech to get set up. I hate not fixing things myself though.

uummm, when you sat on scoot you dont tend to hear it, when the engine is cold, you would expect the stepper to actuate, then when engine warm it does not need to adjust or compensate..
yes he`s right, it will probably have to have a reset, the manual states below;

CAUTION
THE THROTTLE BODY COMES PRE-CALIBRATED. TAMPERING WITH THE THROTTLE STOP
REGISTER IS TO BE ABSOLUTELY AVOIDED THIS REGISTER HAS BEEN SEALED FOR THIS
PURPOSE. FOR PROBLEMS WITH IDLING SEE THE "INJECTION" CHAPTER

just if you are cleaning again, it states below regarding the air chanel for the stepper!!!
Make sure the supplementary air channel managed
by the stepper motor is clean.
Make sure the seal rims on the coupling surfaces
between the manifold-throttle body and manifold head
are in good condition.
CAUTION
IF AIR GETS IN IT CAN JEOPARDISE THE OPERATION
OF THE INJECTION SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY
WHEN THE ENGINE IS IDLING.
IF THE THROTTLE BODY IS REPLACED RESET THE T.P.S. AND ADJUST THE CO%.
ONCE THE ENGINE IS REPAIRED CHECK THE CO% VALUE WHILE IDLING TO MAKE SURE IT
IS WITHIN THE PRESCRIBED VALUES.
IF THE CO% IS NOT IN CONFORMITY, PROCEED WITH CALIBRATION AS DESCRIBED IN THE
ADJUSTING IDLE CARBURETION CHAPTER.

Oh I'm on it! Once I get this stalling and backfiring thing sorted out, I'm going to fit Dr Pulleys etc so I'll need this. Just really hope the new TB sorts it out without the need for more money to being spent.

fingers crossed, you had to delve in the deep end as soon as you got the nexus, its a learning curve, i find out something new everyday, but to get on the nexus, with the light front end and taught body, puts a glint in my eye and a grin on my fosh.... a bit like looking at my other half

I dont mind really. You get more attached to bikes you get involved with by fixing them! Funny but I was never that keen on my last Nexus and i never did anything to that, other than ride it. Speaking of riding it, guess where I went on it...

i fancied the red edged seat on my nexus 500, cant remember if the seat from the 250 or the 300 fits as they seem to have different order numbers? got a spare seat in the shed that mine came with when i got it, small plaster size repair to front bum area, i was thinking to do something with that one, but never seem to get past this point, money always being tight etc.. good luck for sat

We was there a week after the D-Day commemorations. Pretty mind boggling to see row after row of war graves. When you look down at the beach from the top where the German gunners were its hard to believe anyone made it up there. Sitting ducks just doesnt cover it.

My first Nexus was a MK2 and I think that is the standard seat on a MK2?

Yes I'm looking forward to the weekend to see if that TB cures it. Think i'll treat it to a new air intake sensor but only afterwards so I know what was at fault.

Sorry but this is complete bullshit. As I've stated before the ECUs on these aren't that clever & will have the same plug connector.
