Best bet is to do the meeting on Skype

Ok guys thanks for all the tips made it there and back without getting stabbed, shot, arrested and my bike nicked. :D Traffic was terrible and it rained all the way up but there was lots of parking right outside where I needed to be. Was well pleased with the way the bike performed on the M23 and 25 and in the car park which was London traffic. The sat nav was determined to take me past every tourist attraction in London but all in all a good day but it is nice to be back in the clean air of the South Coast where drivers know how to say thank you when you let them out. Glad you had a nice journey. Despite living just outside London, I've only been there on a bike twice. A few years ago on my Burgman - a Sunday morning trip, photographing it against all the landmarks, and last Saturday morning - a sneaky trip up to Hatton Garden when I was supposed to be working to get a 30th anniversary pressie for my wife. Wouldn't like to go there during the weekday rush hour.

Ha! I ride from leafy Essex into the very centre every day. It's not so bad.

The worst aspects are tourists and cyclists. Both are unpredictable.

The roads can get narrow too, in places, making filtering tricky but I have to say I really enjoy the commute. It is simply so much nicer to be on the bike then shut in a tube or sitting hardly moving in a rattly old bus. I sympathise with those of you who may only venture in once in a blue moon or maybe never at all simply because of how it seems so daunting perhaps.

The really best bits? Being able to check my clock against Big Ben every day; riding past so many places where history has been made; and just being able to do that at my own pace and whenever I want.

I really wouldn't swap it.
