Cracked transmission cover or just a superficial scratch?

Post by vleessjuu »

This is a 2013 Burgman 650 I bought this week (20k miles on the clock) and I just noticed this after looking behind the left side maintenance panel. I still have dealer warranty on this bike, though it would be a bit of a pain to go out there just for them to have a look at it. I can't really decide if this is just some harmless superficial damage or if this is an actual crack (or maybe even a repaired crack). I appreciate these are just images, but does anyone have any insights?

Just been in the garage and had a look at mine. There are no marks scrathes or anything but smooth alloy, so I think it might be worh getting it checked.

No expert on your bike, but there does look to be cracks there, the jagged edges scream crack at me.

I’d be back to dealer. That is a potential problem for you in the future.
