SH125 Starting Problems

Post by juanjo4747 »

Hi everyone, i just posted in the introduction section but in case its missed thought i would post here as well. Hope thats ok.

I recently purchased a Honda SH125 2023 model. After 2000 miles I have started to have starting issues. It initially starts fine, but if I turn it off and try to start again then it turns over once and doesn't start. This is an issue with the idle stop as well. If I leave it a minute or two it starts again with no issues. Any ideas? Battery, spark plug? Fuel filter? Thanks

It's still under warranty. I'd take it to a dealer.

Next time it does it try loosening the fuel cap if it then starts,
it is likely a tank breather problem other than that if it's
still under warranty take it to the dealer.

Sounds like its a scooter with automatic stop-start. This makes it very likely that your battery is not properly charged possibly because you do short journeys. First check the battery and charge if necessary and if that fixes the issue see if there is an options to disable stop-start.

Yes, roadster is right. Stop start systems only work correctly when the battery is fully charged and/or above 80% charged. It has been noted some anomalies can occur if the charge rate drops below this threshold.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...
