My new 350 Forza damaged already....

Post by Q-Ball »

Well today I had my lovely Falcon Grey 350 Forza dropped off by a dealer 250 miles away. Whichever Muppets loaded it(no pun intended)
Didn't put any protection between the ratchet strap and the bike causing it to damage the paint while on its way to me.
To be fair the damage is very minimal but there all the same, they offered to take it back and fix it then bring it back but I need the bike for Monday as its my work transport.
So there going to pay my local Honda dealer to fix it at there expense when I take it in for service at 600 miles.
Can anyone recommend a dealer close to Liverpool, they are Bill Smiths in Chester, Hunts in Manchester or Northwest Honda in Blackpool. Bill Smith want it for 2 hours for 1st service which seems like a piss take for a oil and filter change and check of critical fasteners and fixings!

Hunts. I'm in North Somerset and still buy bikes from them. Ask Horobags how good they are.

Cheers guys, used Hunts many moons ago when I purchased my Blackbird, never used them for service or anything like that.
Spoke with Bill Smiths yesterday about getting the damage repaired and the dealer I brought from said they will foot the cost direct with the dealer, but Smiths won't deal with them they said which I thought is odd and said I need to pay and them get the dealer to pay me back for the part and labour. I'll give Hunts a call and see if they can be more accommodating!

Can you identify the dealer who did not treat your new motorcycle with due care and attention which resulted in the cosmetic damage that you mention

Indeed it was Farnham Honda! But its not there fault and I know this for a fact....
There is a big company called Forth Dimension who owns Farnham Honda. Forth Dimension specialise in motorcycle transport apparently. I purchased the bike off Farnham and had it delivered to my home in Liverpool, around 200 miles give or take!
The bike gets collected along with other bikes destined for the Northwest area of the UK. The van then got taken up to Morecombe and dropped off to the Northwest delivery driver who then takes over the van and makes the deliveries the following day.
The bikes are all loaded and secured before the final driver sees any of the bikes.
My driver called me Friday night and said I have one job in Manchester then over to South Liverpool and then your last drop off. The guy turned up and opened the side door of his van and immediately called me over and pointed out that no protection foam had been placed between the ratchet strap and the scooters bodywork.
Farnham Honda called Forth Dimension and told them about the loading issue and they said either bring the bike back or if the customer needs the vehicle as I do,get the work completed by his local dealer and we will foot the cost of the part and labour.
So I can't really say any bad words about the dealer in question as they are fully competitive and have apologised for the poor loading of the van even though they didn't directly load it.

Thank you Q - good thing about it being a scooter is that Honda can supply a brand new colour matched panel without the need to actually paint the cosmetic damage - at least that’s what I’d hope they do

I'd want a new panel not a repair.

It is going to be a new panel,it's been put on order today, fitted by Hunts in Manchester at the expense of the supplying dealer.
