So researching new metal I've spent some time looking at the Yamaha Tmax DX (won't be buying as dealer can't match PX) and yamaha make a big deal of their rider app.
So my question is in the event of an off what prevents the insurance company from demanding to download your app data to try and find an out.
I'm already aware my tracker records all sorts of data including my location at all times.
Police can obviously seize as part of an investigation but whether legal access can be gained is a matter for stated case legislation but civil law works on the likeyhood of probability so If you refused to share with your insurance said data could they decline your claim only covering third parties as per the law??

Bugger, been on the Talisker since about 22:00, but if I understand correctly, we live in a society where we are presumed innocent until proven other wise
but given that insurance companies will do anything to avoid paying out, the busturds will always win

Looking at recent posts on this group, I'd suggest that the Vodafone app is well worth avoiding as it would appear to have the potential to cause major hassles - let alone the ones you mention. Stick to the base model....
In any event, installing the app on the DX isn't a requirement, so if its not installed, there won't be any data for the insurance company to demand.
