disappointed .....

Post by eric1789uk »

I waz supposed to be buying a piaggio x8 400 today, but...... due to the ineptness of the saesman I was dealing with, and after I emailed him to ensure things were all checked and working, when I arrived today there were faults with the electrics. He contacted me last night asking me to come in the afternoon which I agreed, then at noon today he phoned wanting more time, I refused this and attendec at the re-arranged time and found faults. He had 10 days to get it ready and failed. I'll put it right said he........ theres no way I was going back there, I had no faith in him or the company so demanded my deposit back, after a short discussion this was agreed on. How is it difficuilt to chec a scooter and see all the electrics work as they should?
Never mind off to see a one owner K5burger with only 20,000 on with 10 mont tax, 12 mont test f.s.h. rack box and givi screen tomorrow....... might be luckier

Might be a blessing and the Burger turns out to be a better bike. icon_wink-.gif Wales.gif

There's an easy way to tell if a scoot has an electrical fault.

If it says "Piaggio" anywhere on the scoot it's got an electrical problem!! ;-)

Or Honda, or just about anything else.
The Forza has joined the ranks of scooters with a reputation for dodgy fuel pumps......

From what I've seen of the Burgman, you are better off with it. I enjoy my one, the Deauville gets little use these days.

My SYM Joyride with its exposed electrics just above the front wheel has suffered the most electrical faults. My other SYM and my Piaggio have had zero faults of any kind ;)

I've had 3 burgers before with little problems and 1 x8 250 which was fantastic, I did 300 miles from Autun in central france to calais in 1 day on the x8, all my burgers have been touring france too. The biggest problem of all was on my first burger, one of the first 250's when the petrol tank rusted through on the exposed front quarter. What a hell of a job to replace it, all the plastic off, radiator, front mudguard , wheel and other bits. Made sure the new tank was protected on the exposed front bottom corners.

Very frustrating to be let down like that, we have a section about dealer experience's.

Lets know the name of the dealer so those who live local can keep clear :?
As they say is Star Wars.....May the Forza be with you
