Yes Andy, China can be very naughty about copyright. I've no idea if it is licenced or not.

Often the bodies are familiar, possibly out of the same moulds - but the frames are very different.
Apart from housing the batteries they also have to support the motor in a different way if it is a hub motor.
All that torque is going direct into the wheel mounting and using it as a lever - so the axle has to be held rigid, it can't just be a bolt through axle like a traditional machine.

There's a lot of information on the ZEV website, including prices in US dollars.
Then there's shipping and tax.
ZEV will deliver direct to your door and warranty everything bar the batteries for two years.
Batteries are warrantied for one year.
I have to admit that I ddn't realise scooters with this level of range/performance were already available.
The large diameter hub motor looks like an excellent design.
Just imagine two of them in the rear wheels of a Quadro4d.....

I must admit that after owning an Electric Car (Renault Twizy) I am an Electric vehicle Fan.
I can see myself owning an Electric Maxi-Scooter as soon as it meets my specifications

I'm jealous, I'd really like to play around with a Twizzy but I don't do enough miles for thebattery finance to work well for me (I don't commute).

Lost count of the times where people have took pictures of it, sometime from moving vehicles
I have clocked almost 7000 miles in mine without a petrol forecourt in sight
It's used almost everyday to commute 20 Miles
Only takes an hour and a quarter to recharge daily, only takes 3 hours from flat

Yes initially that sounds all fantastic, but it completely depends on what you use your bike for. At the moment the monthly battery charge is around £15-20 a month more than I spend on petrol for my NC750s. I know all bikes values drop like a stone after purchase, but what's the resale value of the Twizzy and how quickly will you get a buyer? My local Renault dealer (where I purchased my car from) had a Twizzy in for months before eventually selling it to hotel in the Lakes for customers to rent.

Now if I was to use a Twizzy every day as a commuter then it may start making sense, but it's that compulsory £45 a month battery rental charge that really bugs me. I can't remember now, but do they have a heater of some kind to clear the windscreen during winter commutes?When I finish work at 02.30am on a cold winters morning my windscreen is always covered in frost.
