Went out for a run with a pal last week and twice over the whole day my 2012 Mark 3 Tmax was reluctant to restart; engine turned over and there was a bit of an attempt at firing up but nothing. Waited for a minute or two and then it fired up.
A couple of days later I had driven some ten miles, parked up and returned an hour later, so the Tmax had cooled down somewhat.
Again the engine turned over, nice healthy battery, but after 6 or 7 attempts nothing !
So I walked away and came back 45 minutes later and it started on the button.
Since then restarts have all been fine but I thought I would drop it in to the dealer for them to check for diagnostic codes - so far they say none have shown up but they will keep it for a few days.
Ho hum we will see.
Anybody had anything similar ?

Re: TMAX RELUCTANT TO RESTART WHEN WARM
When you switch on the ignition can you hear the fuel pump go through its cycle?
MK3 TMaxes when running hot would cause the Fuel Pump to fail, the americans call this TMax fever and is well documented all over the world (a recall in some country's), but yours is so new it should really not have have this problem unless its old stock. Easy way to tell is open up the seat, look under the rubber cover at the top of the fuel pump if it just has a blue and green mark on it, it is an old style pump, if it has a brown mark as well as the others then its a new style pump and less prone too failure but could still fail.
If it is this it shows no fault codes and should be covered by your warranty, mine has this issue right now and as mine is now technically 5 years old I need to try and speak to my dealer and yammy uk to see if they will swap it for free.
Oh and what dealer are you using?

Re: TMAX RELUCTANT TO RESTART WHEN WARM
Thanks funkycowie.
Sods law said that the fuel pump always sounded as though something was going on !
Took it to the dealer who have kept it for several days and at first it worked fine for them but luckily it failed to prime today and they have put in a warranty claim.
They said it was the latest type of pump which doesn't give me a great deal of confidence that the replacement will be any more reliable.

Mine has had this issue twice all by it self, but I can't get it to replicate so until it goes funnier its hard for me to prove that there is an issue, so what dealer are you using, if yours is in with the same problem it maybe be worthwhile me going there as yours would be a reference.

I bought my Tmax from Bowers at Bury St Edmunds and Steve is dealing with it and has put in a Warranty claim.
Hope that helps.
