BMW c650 GT is really a motorbike
When I bought the beemer it wasn't to replace a scooter but a pan european which are similar money so I didn't quibble at the price. They both do a similar job (great for touring 2 up) and are both nicely screwed together yet day to day the beemer is more convenient, underseat storage, easier to thread through traffic without panniers these are huge pluses.

Re: BMW c650 GT is really a motorbike
I've spoken to several c650 gt owners and dealers who didn't realise their bikes had adjustable aerodynamic vent strakes.
Under the screen there should be two strakes that move, they might be laid flat against the instrument binnacle making them hard to notice; they are disguised against the bodywork and don't standout.
Move them outwards and airflow is directed around/over the screen for weather protection. Swing them inwards and they will allow cooling air in and reduce any turbulence or back pressure or position them anywhere inbetween
Some poor overworked underpaid genius spent a long time getting them included and working right so bloody well use 'em

Thanks Bluebottle I have often looked at those two strips of black plastic and thought how odd. I will try them out and see if I notice any difference between positions

I replaced a full touring bike for a 650 Burgman for the same reasons the scoot has more pluses,

I'd be interested to hear what you think, particularly on a hot day.boxer wrote:I will try them out and see.......
There is more to that bike than what shows up on google.

Tried the aerodynamic vents open and closed as Bluebottle suggested. At 30mph and 60mph could detect no discernible difference.

It should be a cooling draft if your jacket is vented or block the rain the other way. Never mind

I only really use my Burgman for touring so I'm looking to switch the other way. What tourer did you replace with the Burg? I'm torn between a FJR1300 or a K1300GTSEalp231 wrote:I replaced a full touring bike for a 650 Burgman for the same reasons the scoot has more pluses,

I changed from a Road king I looked at both the FJR 1300 and a BMW after the road king i prefer the seating position of the burg a friend of mine had the FJR and his wife hated it so if you take a pillion get a good test ride
