It might look silly bit who cares if it works

Post by Deeping »

As the colder weather is here I thought about hand gaurds to keep the wind off my pinkys,
found these on ebay for a crosser, ( I used to have them on my 600 Paris-Dakar bike in the 80's, they worked on that).
They were £12.49 inc P&P. Tomorrow will be first time out with them on the T-Max, hope they work.

They look ok to me. If they do the job who cares? I had a set of Yamaha hand guards on my Xmax which seemed to deflect the wind but yours look better so I'll be looking out for a pair too.

Deeping your bike looks gorgeous. Guards look trick. Mine r so ugly that I think I will remove them when I replace the screen.

Yep Deeping, they're the business! Looking good. The ones' that come as standard on the Burgy 400z work very well so I have no doubt yours will too.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

:) They look very smart on your T-max, do they clamp around the handlebars somehow? I have been thinking about something similar for the Hexagon, but the design of the handlebar fairing makes it awkward to fit. Will have to do some more head scratching!

Well, handlebar muffs look even sillier, but with night time temperatures dipping, they are already on both my scoots, and sod the fashionistas!!!

Iam with you Mr Grumpy. I put my handlebar Muffs on for winter, better than two pairs of gloves, as they stop the wind getting to your hands in the first place. I've tried heated grips, and lost count of the number of "winter gloves" i've bought that were useless. :)

They just use the same bolt that goes through the leaver hinge. I just fitted a longer one with a washer either side. Tested them today, brill

I've just ordered some with daylight running lights built in. What with my HID low and main beam lights I'll be lit up like a Christmas tree. sun.gif so SMIDSY can't say I wasn't trying!
I need to fit a 12v adapter too sometime so I can use my heated inner gloves this winter.
