ive just clocked up 28,000 kms on the x8 400 and no matter how hard i push it i cant get it to fall below 60 mpg
thinking of grabbing a new xevo while they are still about

The Xevo is very good on fuel too, but don't get a new one. Get a nearly new 2nd hand one and save some depreciation money

I swapped my Bandit 600S for a YP250 , went from 45 mpg to around 82 mpg, tax and insurance half the price and tyres about 1/3 of price, gets me there just the same and is easier to manoeuvre around with my old back

No you don't mate, the lad rang back shortly afterwards to complian that the engine need £400 worth of repairs doing to it and it was a week out of warranty when he bought it.
