I get 12 to 14 miles per litre, it starts off at 6 mpl until warmed up. I ride at national speed limits on the clock, which of course is fast by about 8%

Level forecourt, centre stand, same as any other really.
I think I must be too fat or too fast as my mpg doesn't seem great at 54

When I was commuting I saw similar, but now I'm using for mainly leisure and especially longer rides I get 60-70 unless pressing on (see signature).

I find the best method to record mpg is to keep a record of fuel and miles.
I use one of the many fuel record websites (See my signature

I average 58 mpg on my 650 Executive.
Tend to ride within 10% of posted speed limits but with fairly quick getaways from traffic lights.
With regard to a few of the later posts above, the whys, wherefores, methods and otherwise of how much you can get in the tank due to the filler location are totally irrelevent to average MPG and rider style.

If you measure over a long enough period any variation in fill-ups is negated.
Personally I also reckon there's little difference in amount I don't get in each time, the design is constant the only variation is the sensitivity in the pump and how easily it cuts out. But if you use the same garage for regular fills (other than when travelling) even that isn't relevant.

I agree that all smooths out over a long enough period of time. After a few thousand miles on fuelly.com, you've got a pretty good idea where you are. You have to be a bit anal about it, though. I could tell that I needed a new belt on my Chinese scoot by the steady decline in mpg even after full service including setting the valve clearances.
