New to the UK, been around for years elsewhere, any thoughts on the new 155???

Yeah - its an oddity. A 150 used to make sense in Italy I think - I have a vague memory that you could go on the Autostrada with a 150 but not a 125 (or maybe I imagined this!). But it wouldn't seem to add that much performance over a 125 but needs a licence. If you are going over 125cc, then a 180-200cc would seem to be the most sensible next step.

This Yamaha N-Max 155 isn’t really that much different than Yamaha changing the Tricity 125 to 155 a few years ago.

Way back in the Fifties and early Sixties, Honda brought out a 55cc version of the C50 Cub. According to the brochures and leaflets I collected as a kid, unlike the 50cc version the C55 Cub allowed the owner to travel on Britain’s budding motorway system.

Which back then would have meant the Preston Bypass.

Going on your post Bellman, a 1.0mm rebore on a C50 would push it over the 49cc lower limit (52cc). Is it the nominal or actual size which qualifies? Not that I would ever dare try anything with such a small capacity on our motorways, especially these days!

Times were different. In the 1970s I remember going on holiday with my brother, up the M-ways to Wales in his Ford 100E Prefect - cruising speed 50mph at best! And it wasn't the slowest thing on the M-way either!
