Hello all
Newbie here.
I have a Vespa GTS 250
I'm kind of new to scooters. Had motorbikes for a few years..
Really enjoying the vespa at the moment.
I like the light weight and nippyness..
I commute mainly on country and town riding.
Considered a bigger cc scooter not much bigger though maybe a Forza or xmax not sure yet.
Looking to use the forum for advice and chat - I want to stay away from Facebook if possible.
Thanks.
Mike

Welcome Mike.
The GTS250 is regarded by many as the only Vespa you'll need. The build quality was probably at least as good as the newer models and, whilst a little slower, will still do the job. I came to Vespas after having owned a number of other scoots and I really do think that the ownership experience is worth the money. I also find it to be the most comfortable of them all. Give your 250 time to settle in and you might not want anything else in the short term.

Hello. Thanks for your response. Yes I certainly like the GTS. It's a great little bike..I've had it a few times on the motorway for commute only a junction or 2 and it's been a little blowy but not too bad. I thought I needed something a bit heavier for the job but it's actually doing all I need and fits better in the garage and I think looks better too..
I'll keep you posted.

I have read that the only issue with the 250 can be the ABS system but I haven't looked into it to see if it's common or not. Otherwise, people seem to keep them for years and, yes, Vespas can be a bit susceptible to high winds but you just get used to it. probably the small wheels or something. We need pics, of course.

Hello.
Thanks.
I don't think my 250 has abs..
Here's a picture of it before I set it up for winter..
It now has a full screen and front rack on with some spot lights..

That's nicely appointed. If you ever decide to go down the Forza route (which are great, by the way) I'd still hold on to your Vespa as the fun factor is definitely way up there.
