Farewell BMW tourer ... heading to maxi-scooter land
Posted: Sun Jul 03, 2022 12:20 pm
Test rode a Yamaha T-Max Tech Max 560, 2022, yesterday.
Really liked it. So I bought it. Guess I'm joining the maxi-scooter movement
That's why I'm here.
(Really don't know why scooters are much less popular in UK than "on the continent", can't just be climate.)
I'm saying goodbye to my trusty touring steed, a 2014 (wet) BMW R1200RT LE (pictured).
Also saying goodbye to the 'second car', a first-generation Nissan Leaf. BMW was a bit big for the little trips. Seemed a waste of the Leaf as well but too convenient.
Hoping to be a regular commuter and little trips user of the scooter. Handy for the longer occasional trip when I fancy. Going to need top box etc but not much out for this model yet.
Will take me a while to get used a bike so much smaller and lighter. Really impressed by its agility (and filtering is so much easier).
Wish me luck... and fun rides.
