I'm thinking of buying a battery optimiser for the Burgman and I was wondering what all the good folk on here use as I'm sure a lot must use them. Reccomendations and comments please and thank you in advance.

I use one I bought from Lidl. It's a car and motorcycle charger/tender with various different modes, full lcd screen, plus it will also test your battery and try to recover a bad battery from a flat state. It does 6v, 12v and 24v. It's their own brand. You can leave the bike on it over winter or just pop it on charge every now and then. Can't show you a picture just now. Pretty much identical to an Optimate except it only cost me £12.99 reduced from £19.99. Early spring is a good time to look at the middle isle of Lidl as they do quite a bit of MC stuff. I've had my Lidl charger for near 3 years now and used it regularly on my bike and others. Plus used it to charge a car on one occasion. They still sell them periodically. Just what I use and I recommend one if you see them on the shelf. I'll try to get more details for you later.

Thanks for that, never thought of Lidl, I enjoy a good rummage in their middle isle.

I have been using an Oxford Oximiser for the last few years (i forget which model). I originally got it because my old Vity didn't hold its charge on cold nights, but now if my Vespa is going to be sat for any length on time (I don't really use mine over the winter anymore), then I pop the battery out and hook it up in my basement.

I use an Accumate for the bikes and for my diesel van
It's my second one. The first lasted over 20 years so I can't complain.

I use an Optimate. Have it on most of the time over winter. Had it for at least 15 years and still going strong.

I agree with Mr Grumpy - I've had a Ctek 5 amp charger for several years and it's excellent - even up to charging a leisure battery from the caravan. I'd prefer it if it had a 6 volt option but I can't have everything.
