Honda Forza 750

G’day all,
Last month I was looking at the Honda Adv X 750 as a replacement for the current bike (Vstrom1000) due to it having a tadge too much weight too high up. This makes “both feet down” manoeuvring difficult and painful if my dodgy back is playing up. In the garage/drive I can handle, but if I need to do a 40 point turn down some unclassified country lane then I hvae no confidence.
I took the Adv X 750 out for a test ride and liked it even if it felt tiny compared to the Vstrom.
Currently riding to work on the Vstrom so the chillier temperature's are making me lust for the protection my 650 Burgman gave (not to mention the heated seats !). So I am now thinking of the Forsa 750. Hopefully I can get a test ride in a couple of weeks but I wanted to know peoples thoughts on the bike.

It has lots of fans...must admit I keep thinking of ditching the newer of my Tmaxs for one, but can't quite persuade myself...yet.
btw I believe the Forza 750 has a slightly lower seat height than the X-ADV.

Seat is about 2cm lower I think. Not much but it helps (or so says the wife).

The T Max is tempting but my nearest dealer is over 60 miles away while my nearest Honda deal just 4.

Exactly the same situation with me. I have a Honda dealer in town, but almost all the Yamaha dealers in the entire region have lost their franchises.

Ah yes the Burger 650, i had at least 5 of those and loved them, would probably still have one if they were still being made……anyway onwards and upwards,i replaced the Burger with a new 218 530cc Tmax, great machine and at 216kg is nice and light,on the road its fun and if you buy the top spec one,the heated grips, seat and cruise make it a pleasure to ride, the electric adjustable screen is well worth it,for those faster roads,i also ran the XADV 750 alongside it,heavier at 237kg seat 835mm was just about doable for me at 5” 7’ and inside leg 29 inches, needed to be careful as i was only on the balls of my feet when stopped, not flat footed,a manually adjustable screen made it reasonably quick to raise/lower the screen, you need to be stationary, the DCT gearbox was great,i really enjoyed it,when Honda released the Forza 750 i was due to change my ride anyway,i got a test ride on a Forza and was smitten, the upgraded DCT is great, same wieght as the ADV at 237kg,but lower center of gravity and a lower seat hieght i can flat foot both sides when stopped,if you have a dodgy back you may need to push it about in the showroom and put it on & off the centre stand a couple of times,i have had mine a few months now and i am enjoying it,i have the Honda grips on mine, the Honda grips are dear, but i got mine as part of the deal and they are intergrated in to the dash which makes it neat and tidy, nice long service intervals and a vey sporty ride, the feet forward is comfy for me,downside, limited underseat storage, but i have a top box and my friend gave me a brand new tunnel bag,no electric or even manually adjustable screen, which i miss.

Presumably you meant that the X-ADV's seat was 835mm rather than 235? A 235mm high seat would be rather curious to ride!
Wandering slightly off topic...Regarding service intervals, I saw a TV programme reviewing some new Triumph. They said 'its great, service intervals are now 16k miles'. Then let slip it was 16k miles or 1 year....so as most people only do a few thousand miles a year, having a longer inteveral isn't much benefit. I guess the Honda is the same? I think the Tmax is in theory but I tend to stick to a service every 6k miles.

I see that a dealer has 2 Candy red and 2 Matte silver Forza 750s for sale. Said to be limited editions but may be sign that Honda will sell these colours next year. These colours look very good.

Interesting. The Red has been available in Europe but not the UK, apparently some dealers will do a special order.
