Yamaha have unleashed an updated Tmax...video here, but it contains few details.
Don't think its a major upgrade - they've changed the body very slightly (looks ugly) and they claim its got updated supsension and wheels, plus its positively sinking under the amount of electronic gizmos!
Price? Dread to think!
But since I no longer have a Yamaha dealer within 65 miles of me, I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon!

There's good news and bad news about that......yes, they doing a Yelllow version again, which looks fab. The bad news is that its only available on the base version - which isn't coming to the UK! Doh!
Forza 750 sensible option Tmax all out no expense spared fun option .Out of my budget I'd possibly reach to getting used 530 with cruise by trading in mk2 and adding cost of a new forza 350 .I'll more than likely just spend on the mk2 as its needed .Found local bike mot place that will do valve check and reshim if needed .

Yes the excellent Peter Hammond in Cirencester have given up on Yamaha now - Hondas for me from now on then...
" regrettably, from December 1st we will no longer be operating as an official Yamaha dealer.
This isn't a decision that has been taken lightly or made easily. Unfortunately in the current climate we do not feel that implementing a costly internal & external VI (Visual Identity) programme is feasible and therefore we will no longer fit in with the Yamaha vision for the future. As this is a requisite requirement going forward it sadly means that after 50 years as a fully-fledged dealer we have decided to call time on our partnership."
Yamaha's loss, I feel.

I think that all the brands are doing something similar. The dealer in my local town used to do all the big 4 Japanese brands, then Yamaha required them to spend £50k on a specialist showroom, so they said No. Then Honda took their franchise away, although they have given it to someone else local (a car dealer!). The Yamaha dealers at Horden, Newcastle and now York have all lost their franchises, so there is now no dealer between Bedlington in Northumberland and Keighley in West Yorks! Yes, with the wonders of the net, I can buy one from anywhere, but what about the mandatory 1st service, service recalls or warranty work? If it goes wrong in the warranty period, how am I supposed to get it 50, 70, 100 miles to a franchised dealer?
I don't think any customers care a jot for the brand's 'Visual Identity' programmes and other nonsense. They just want a decent dealer - and the smaller dealers like they are kicking off often provide better service than the big ones!

Same thing has happened over the years in Cambridge, making it a bit of a motorcycle wilderness (I'm not counting the John Banks Honda - this is a car dealership with a few bikes as an add on in Cambridge).
At least it's much less than 70 miles to the nearest dealer...

I thought that servicing could be done by any recognised motorcycle dealership/workshop without the waranty being invalidated, provided the work was done in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.
Years ago, a great deal was in the News about this, with Current Affairs programmes involved. The stranglehold of the various companies and franchises who forced owners to use them exclusively was broken.
