Hi all, had a burgman 650 for a while but moved it on. Looking at a 2002 tmax with 30k on it or a 2013 x10 350 both cheap. Got other bikes but I just enjoy the twist and go thing, any views on which way to go?

They're very different scoots, so which one better suits your intended use.

The TMax will likely cost more to keep on the road and with running costs, but repay you with better performance.

However if you get your adrenaline buzz elsewhere then the X10 is a.solid option.

X10 - 350 has a great engine, but I suspect it will handle pretty awfully (and its UGLY!). The Tmax will handle, and will be more reliable, but being a mk1 (40bhp) won't go that much faster than the X10!

The X10 350 was a surprisingly quick bike and I didn't find the handling too bad for a conventional scooter. The usual achilles heel of Piaggios is the electronics/wiring and the T-Max may be better but I have never had one.

I have had both the big burger 2016 model and the tmax 2018 model, both remarkable machines in their own way,the Burgman being a extremely comfortable mile munching cruiser,ok its a lardy old beast, but the low centre of gravity makes it easy to control, the tmax is very nippy and i did have fun on mine, its a light machine, the 2018 model was 216 kg,unsure if the older ones are heavier or lighter, the twist and go is fun as you say.As for the X10,never got to have a go on one and have only ever seen a few,one of the members on the X9 forum had one and used it on some weekends away with us,nothing remarkable sticks in my mind about it……wasn’t there an issue with a electric part being exposed to the elements(possibly rectifier)
