Well, £10k is a relative bargain these days! They keep comparing it to the Tmax, but I somehow suspect they haven't ridden a Tmax recently - they definitely decided that Scooter=bad, Bike like=good!
They really like the 'motorcycle style' (ie Vibey) engine. That's the thing that puts me off! Isn't it time the cliche that the engine is half a Honda Jazz engine was put to bed? I'm not even sure its actually true in any real sense!

same here Grumpy.

how the heck it only has 54 horsepower for a 750cc motor.... if 750cc is a main feature and one is compromising storage or a luxury seating position then at least make power and performance the main feature.

The newest version has 58 or 59 I believe. Honda specifically designed it as a very economical low revving torquey engine with enough power for practical day to day use, but no more. Think of it has a smaller Harley engine, only a parallel twin rather than V-twin! The Harley Sportster engines had even less power from a bigger engine if I recall correctly. If you want power, Honda would expect you to buy a VFR or something.

I had a vfr in the early 2000's. got a great used mint deal from a guy who sold it for the same reason I sold it after I bought it. the lady said she didnt enjoy the ride. moved to a scooter. I would not be caught dead on a HD. they make more noise than they move. totally flat when I see them. the problem is, they cram a big 750cc which takes up space so no cargo, seating comfort isnt there either and still performance is so so.

I guess its a personal thing. 55-60 hp for a 750cc the gilera gp800 has over 72hp and its an older model. vstrom 650 has almost 70hp. even their excellent 600cc silver wing had 60hp. I dunno, I guess I dont understand the marketing heads

I thought the whole thing about this engine family was the fat torque at low revs giving both good acceleration and better mpg? Max power and therefore higher top speed weren't considered as important.

@StephenC

yes youre correct. read an article saying that. id prefer to have the power and let me adjust the throttle to suit my needs.
