Two up

Post by gonzone3 »

Looking to get another Scooter as main transport. What's the views on two up riding? Would a X Max 250 do the job or should I be looking at a Majesty 400, or perhaps big wheel 300. Any thoughts welcome

It depends upon your physical size, and your expectations to be honest.

Back in the 80s my girlfriend and I did a 2000 mile camping trip on my MZ150 without issue.

Mrs Capitano and I did a few rides on the Burgman 125 pre-pandemic, including dual carriageways and motorways, and it was absolutely fine.

MCN claimed that the 100 bhp Africa Twin wasn't powerful enough for two up riding.

Your own requirements may be somewhere in between mine and MCN's.

My 300 is often used at least two up ( sometimes 3 when the dog joins us..... )

No problems at all, keeps up with A road traffic easily........

125's are capable for 2-up, in Asia you get entire families on them!

Meldrew used a 600 Honda Silverwing for regular European tours, they are very capable mile munchers. Go for the 2007> models for better fuel ecconomy.

Meldrew of York has sold his Silverwing, Dave, and bought a Forza 300.
I think he still rides two up.
He's very happy with it.
