3 Wheel Tilting Tmax?

Just come across this story about a Yamaha patent for a 3 wheel Tmax.

https://www.cycleworld.com/story/motorc ... ing-trike/

Looks interesting, but expensive & heavy!!The 4-damper arrangement used on the front of the Niken always looked inelegant to me, so whether this proposed arrangement is better we shall see. Whether it ever progresses from a drawing to metal is of course entirely unknown!

You’re right it will be expensive, only becomes heavy if one has to pick it up off the ground :D i guess the trike style should make that difficult to do unless the rider or other road user does something really stupid

Well "expensive" certainly suits the brand.

Different in almost every way, apart from the Yamaha badge! Obviously the Tricity is basically an Xmax 300 with 2 front wheels, whilst this patent shows a 3 wheeled Tmax, with current Tmax chassis / engine etc. Even the front wheel / tilt mechanism is a completely different design, using some sort of wishbones, which is nothing like Yamaha's current 3 wheelers eg Niken.

My bad, I've just seen the article in MCN. Things are looking up for when I become too decrepid to mount/dismount from my current trike as scooters are easier to access .

Brudelli have put a lot of work into that leaning front end. Echoing everyone's thoughts on here, it will undoubtedly be both excellent and expensive. 8-)

Just to add further confusion, an entirely different Yamaha leaning 3 wheeler has emerged...

However, this appears to be a wacky concept, whilst the 3 wheel Tmax looked to be a practical proposition. Same front suspension design as the 3 wheel Tmax. Still, rather like the combine backrest / topbox /panniers idea!
