We were on holiday on the island of Ischia last week, wandering through the old port area when we heard loads of horns blaring and then a police car appeared escorting a massive procession of scooters, some sort of club judging by the flags on the front of them. There must have been over a hundred of them. Took me a minute or so to get my phone camera up & running but managed to get a few snaps....

Obviously in that part of the world the SH125i and its million clones is a beast of burden, ridden by everyone and a daily workhorse, but these were proper enthusiasts.....!

I went to World Vespa days in Mantova Italy in 2014 had great time search on you tube loads of videos 4000 on the ride out roads shut down police escorts could ride either side of road .Gala dinner was countries trying to out sing each other .

Ischia, that's the small island in the Bay of Naples near Capri. We never managed to get there on our recent Sorrento and Amalfi Coast holiday, although Mrs M developed a taste for the Frassitelli wine from Ischia after one of our hotel waiters who was from Ischia recommended it.

Yes, we've been to Sorrento about 6 times in the last 8 years, but our two favourite hotels have become expensive, so saw this holiday in Ischia. We love that part of the world. Great weather, great scenery, great food, good wine, pretty Italian girls and loads of scooters around........

Although to be fair, I'm more struck on the last two than the missus is.......
