Just a quick update!
After having my Maxsym 600 for 5/6 weeks, I must say that I'm thoroughly enjoying it!!
Definitely nothing major to report although there are a couple of minor niggles namely the indicator arrows on the dash, useless in daylight,(already knew about that!), very wobbly mirrors at full throttle and the weight of it!!!

I have a fairly narrow drive leading to my garage and with the weight of it, turning it to face the opposite direction takes about an 8 point turn so I remedied that by building a little turntable.......I'll do another post on that once I've sorted the pictures!
Overall I am very impressed by the scoot and if I had to give it a score out of 100 it would have to be 97, - 3 for the above mentioned!!, build quality, comfort, power are all there so I would have to highly recommend it.

Glad that you are enjoying the ride and as you have mentioned they are a very good machine. Having fitted the Brisk plug to mine and put a further 500+ miles on it, my mpg is averaging around 68 which I find acceptable. Currently touring the West Country with full touring kit and I have to say it performs and handles very well. So far so good!

How do these cope with the bumps etc then as a swing engine suspension set up I think ?
I think I read somewhere they are OK considering that ?
Sounds very nice.

Iam up to one thousand miles on my Cruisym300. Had it since May but been away for a couple of weeks. Cruises very comfortably at 50/60mph. I still have my Silver wing 600. Only niggles I have are the speedo is in km and the clock is twenty four hour. Comparing it to the Silver wing, basically same seating with a good high screen, more room under the seat so no need for a top box. Suspension at rear same as the wing but, to adjust you need to remove the exhaust!. Really noticeable is the weight very easy to put on centre stand. My opinion, a smaller version of the Silverwing, suits me fine.

Good to see you're enjoying your Maxsym. I've had mine for nearly 16 months now and I'm more than happy with it.
The indicator arrows in bright sunlight - I find the whole instrument panel a problem. I think part of it is the glass being too reflective. As to the weight, a lot depends on what you had before. If you have come up from a 125 then the weight is going to be a problem. I came up from a Burgman 400 so it wasn't so much of a jump. Consequently I don't find the weight to be so much of a problem.
A question for all Maxsym owners - have you found the fuel gauge a little erratic? Mine goes down slowly till it is just below half full then plummets the rest of the way to empty. Makes it difficult to estimate how many miles I have left before I have to refuel.

Cannot say that I have noticed the significant drop on the fuel gauge once below halfway mark. That said, I generally tend to fill up once half tank has been reached anyway.

road runner, i'm currently on 55mpg so i might look into the brisk plugs if they make a difference!

i had a kymco downtown 300, it wasn't too bad. i suppose it's just getting used to it, plus i'm also getting older!!

my fuel gauge does seem to drop rapidly from about two thirds down, i try to fill up round about 140 miles mark, it usually takes 10/ 11 litres which means roughly 3 or 4 litres left.

I ran out of fuel once and when I managed to get to a petrol station it was full after just over 13 litres. Despite the tank being 14.2 litres according to the manual. Maybe the last litre doesn't go through or something. A thing to beware of.

Regarding fuel, I read somewhere that if you monitor how many miles you do from full to first mark it is a good guide to how far you will go from last mark to empty. I did this on my Silver wing and it does work quite well. I seem to be averaging 85mpg on the Sym. I usually get 62mpg on the Silver wing.
