More Football Please

What a great days riding today was. The sun was shining and off for my Sunday run. My god, I thought, all the boy racers will be out today, showing us how noisy and fast they are. Surprised, not all that many on the road, a few, but not as many as I expected. Over the country lanes and no boy racers? through Lancaster, all traffic lights for me ,and still only one or two in full racing gear with knee sliders and Humps on their backs. At Glasson dock plenty of room, and hardly any bikes!. On the way home brilliant no traffic to speak of and open roads for a steady cruise. Then it dawned on me FOOTBALL! of course I think England played a match today and it was on telly. I have never had any interest in Football, apart from asking when the Cup Final was on so I could go for a ride. Please show more Football on telly I will take an interest to see when it is on but, for my own reasons!

I'm behind you all the way Sylar. It's so much better to go for a ride without having to watch out for boy racers (and the odd girl racer with a nod to equality) of the two and four wheeled varieties. Couldn't give a monkeys about the football anyway!

I'm a shift worker myself, and it's definitely better to go for a ride on weekdays when the sports bike and racing leathers brigade are at work (and in their cars), so I don't have to watch for them whipping past me at stupid speeds. Plus there is less traffic. The trouble is Maxi-Muppets meets and rideouts tend to be at weekends. Must cater for the majority after all.
Good to see there is someone else apart from me that doesn't like football!

I've had the week off and been out on the bike a lot.
Enjoyed the quiet roads.
I had to feign interest of the football today due to a family barbecue and the fact that my nephew is in to it. Other than that I couldn't give two hoots about the England football team.
Guess football has a place if it gets sports bikers off the road.

Also good time to go to supermarket
I always thought that if you want the ball to be in the back of the net - stick it under the seat and drop it off on your way past.
Why make it difficult with awkward rules?

The traffic was very heavy in the SE yesterday, it was a very sunny day. I was most surprised, lots of bikes out. What was the weather like in those northern lands.

In my area Lancashire -Yorkshire it was sunny all day. I prefer to ride with a bit of cloud cover, rather than full sun, but temperature got up to 78f (I don't do metric). The last footballers I was interested in, only because friends were, were Stanley Matthews and I think the other was Burt Troughtman (a goal keeper that continued playing even though he had a broken kneck). I thought I would get a lot of stick from football supporters, nice to know not everyone lives for people kicking a ball around.

Yesterday on the way back from Torquay (237 miles) I saw 4 other riders
