Try your local “Go Outdoors” store

I have a very cheap foldup one that goes under the seat. If I buy too much beer to go in the topbox, it comes in very handy. But if I was looking for a picnic bag, then something like this would be the answer.

I don’t recommend that you wear a rucksack whilst riding the scooter though you did not say that this is the case - a work colleague had a low speed off while wearing a rucksack with a can of Coca Cola inside - the said can lodged in his spine causing him severe injury

I hated wearing a normal sized rucksack just to bung my sarnies and drink in so I bought a smaller one of ebay for about £4 delivered, but they are even cheaper than that in Decathlon if you have on near by!

Its an Quechua Arpenaz 10 (10 litre?) and has a main pocket and a smaller outer one. I used this daily on my XT660 throughout winter and it kept its contents dry. I've been slinging it in the Tmax and on the office floor ever since and its not shown any signs of wear. Amazing value!

Solid objects in a rucksack are bad news in an accident. That's what underseat storage areas and topboxes are for!

Depends on the accident. A guy crashed and slid off his bike and hit a stud/bolt thing sticking out of the road with his backpack and it ripped through the back pack and part of a manual he had in there. If he hadn't been wearing the backpack with its contents, it would have been his spine that took that injury!!

I tend to limit my backpack contents to soft stuff. If I landed on my back, my spine would be cushioned by an armoured jacket and frozen peas and chips. I'm thinking that these would provide excellent initial protection and if I pulled a back muscle, I'd have an instant cold-pack.
