Ok, so simple really. Peter temporarily can't pilot his bike. We just need to be aware that we all have a spare seat behind us (usually!) so it's up to us to offer a seat so he doesn't miss out on Pie & Mash etc etc. We don't want him starving do we!
Peter, if this thought fills you with fear, don't worry, it does us too! No, not really. Most of us a pretty capable with a passenger so don't worry. You just have to ask anytime you fancy a run out...simples!

Re: Funky's one year off....
It will likely take a couple of months to feel balanced enough to do this... but the thought of riding on the biatch seat is a little daunting
The only time I rode pillion was when I was 7 years old and about 36 years ago, the rider was female... and the first time I ever got to grab a woman from behind

Right! It's normal to feel a bit daunted by it, but as long as you trust your pilot, it's a pretty good experience. A good pilot will take it slow to start with and do a short ride with you so you can get the feel of the bike from the back seat, learn to lean a bit with the bike into corners etc. It actually just becomes second nature after a while and you will feel comfortable if your pilot is a good rider. Can give it a try locally in Harlow if you like some time later in the year on the GTS if you like. I take a pillion from time to time and he is 6ft tall. I'm a ROSPA gold standard and Advanced rider, ex-bike instructor. But see how you feel later about it. Hope you are feeling ok and getting your head around not riding for a short while. Can't promise I'll feel as good as the first time you grabbed a woman though. Speak soon!
