Hi Guys and Gals

Looking to do the NC500 in Scotland couple of questions ... how many miles to total will I get out of a full tank and I,ve been told theres very few garages to fill up after Ullapool. How have others got on touring for fuel up there?

Miles to a tank varies, only you will know how much you get.

Theres a Spar at Durness with fuel I did it on an old Silverwing was fine we did fill up in Wick at Tesco then topped up in Durness was enough to get to Ullapool .Just need nice weather .

2004 Silverwing were not best on fuel 50 mpg at best so will be fine on a burgman .It's fairly slow pace anyway too fast and miss the views .

There is a map with all the petrol stops, and there are plenty.
BTW, I'm going to do the leg from Inverness to Ullapool, as I did the pretty bit this year, going to stay at Shearings self drive hotel near Inverness, (4 nights all inclusive deal).

Brother came with us on his 400 and we done a week up that way. He was never more than 5 minutes behind us despite us making good progress on much bigger bikes. we never had any problem finding petrol stations just put them in your sat nav as points of interest. He was averaging 60mpg so 150 to reserve will be acceptable. Panic 1L targa bottle under the seat will give you a little back up if you are that worried.
