Hello Scootsters !
Kev here near Warrington. Always ridden bikes but have finally accepted the practicality of a maxi scooter over a Ducati S2R1000!
About to pull the trigger on either a Forza 300 or Xmax250. I have test ridden the forza and found it to be a very smooth ride for a scooter and was also very comfortable. I like the foot forward option for longer trips and will be using the Scooter for touring abroad as a few of us go to watch the moto gp's in Spain and Le mans France.
Will be test riding the xmax250 next week. Appearance wise the xmax has an edge about it which i like but im interested to find if it competes with the Forza on the more important areas such as comfort, storage and fuel consumption. looking at images of the xmax im not sure the front design allows for the foot forward position of the Forza which appears to have a deeper front well for your feet.
Anyone ridden both and in a position to pass comment ? Very interested to find if there will be a significant difference in MPG which i doubt as they are similar displacement, but you never know.
Main use will be a daily 15 mile round trip, nothing I know.
Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Forza 300 vs Xmax 250
both good scoots, but if your coming from an s2r, you might prefer a t-max 500, which has exellent performance and handling. If your travelling to a GP in europe with other bikes,,,,, you'll be glad of the extra power over a 250/300. Will also do your commute needs.
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.
Re: Forza 300 vs Xmax 250
Yes, I thought of that but the small commute takes priority as it will be the main use of the bike, going to europe happens once a year maybe twice. 500 isnt necessary.

8k miles service interval on forza is very good. I do like mine.

Re: Forza 300 vs Xmax 250
Yes im impressed with a number of things about the Forza, especially the smoothness and comfort. Hoping someone will comment on the xmax mpg. Ive seen a couple of vague figures online but not from a specific forum. Would 100mpg be possible with the Forza with a daily 15 mile round trip ? Wouldnt reach anything over 40mph.
Re: Forza 300 vs Xmax 250
Forza 300 no, but ridden like that high 80s should be possibleRoadster75 wrote:Would 100mpg be possible with the Forza with a daily 15 mile round trip ? Wouldnt reach anything over 40mph.
Forza 125 yes
My Forza 300 has averaged 77mpg over 22000 miles.
If all you're ever going to do is 40mph commutes a Yamaha Nmax would be my recommendation, but if you have to have a 250-300....
Forza has ABS as standard, the Xmax does not
Forza has Combined brakes, the Xmax does not
Forza has 8000 mile service intervals, the Xmax does not
Forza has an oil filter, the Yamaha does not
Forza has a new design offset crank motor, the Xmax motor hasn't been updated for nearly ten years
Forza has a twin pivot anti-vibration swingarm, the Xmax does not
Forza has both headlamps on all the time, the Xmax ones look broken
Kymco Downtown has ABS and is cheaper than both of them, faster, just as economical and doesn't have shim valve adjusters.
Same goes for the Sym Joymax 300 which also has idle stop and is likely to be the most economical of the 300s

As there's a Daelim dealer in Warrington, I'd also take a look at the S3 Advance 250
Good all round maxi scooter with matching top box and linked braking system - but no ABS
A couple of places near you sell them through their ebay pages for £3000 - Bolton Motorcycles, and Robinsons of Rochdale

Re: Forza 300 vs Xmax 250
The Downtown is the same bike as the J300 isn't it? If so I'd avoid as the service intervals are very short.
It's the feet-forward comfort of the Forza that sold it to me over the others (and the fact that I didn't have to option of riding at stupid speeds). I've done 2-hour rides so far with no discomfort at all

Yes the foot forward option on the Forza is potentially a deal winner, although im led to believe that you can buy extension foot rests which attach to the frame somewhere for scooters that dont have the foot forward option ?
