Wheel Compatibility

Post by dogwheel »

Hi, Posted this earlier, but it's vanished!
I'm wondering if I could fit wheels from a different year/ K Number to my 2005 Burgman AN400K5?
Why? I'm hoping to get some winter tyres.
Anyone know?
Thanks,
Robin.

the newer years scoot have wider tyres etc so wont fit your rims, dont know if you can fit different year rims to your scoot, but whats the point really :) if you want all year tyres see below :)
your front tyre is or should be 110/90 R13
your rear tyre is or should be 130/70 R13
so a quick look on http://www.oponeo.co.uk/moto shows all year riding winter tyres,
Continental ContiMove 365 all year tyres £44 front and £44 for the rear which will be well suited to your ride

I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

Hi Michael,
Thanks for taking the trouble, I like the idea of those all-year-tyres, so I'm thinking that will be the way for me to go.

Or checkout Mitchelin City Grip - they do a Winter Option... not sure on the sizes

paul beat me to it ha ha the other option are the michelin city grips, which everyone likes as an all year option, disperse water very well.... if the younger chap was the general rider then the continentals will ease your mind regarding all year riding
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

I'm running City Grip Winter on mine, no problems as a "summer" tyre yet ;)
Have wheels, will travel :D

Looks like it will be the Conti 365's, as the Michelin City Grip is only available in "my sizes" in the Summer version.
Shame that as there would have been a good saving on cost.
