J300 I'm Lovin' It

I have done 600 miles and so took my J300 in for its first service at http://www.onyerbike.net/, the dealer where I bought it.

I was happy with it before the service but limiting it to 6000 revs made those 600 miles seem more like 6000 miles.

After a few miles, on my way back, I increased the revs to 7000+ which mean't 70mph - hooray now I can keep up with traffic !

I don't know whether it was my imagination but it seemed better than before, whilst of course it doesn't quite have the oomph that my TMAX did, the J300 seems to be able to pull away and leave most cars behind up to 60mph and I had a great ride back.

Most Kawaski dealers are 50 to 60 miles from me, I ended up buying from Onyerbike because they have been around for over 25 years, have a good reputation and although the 60 miles from me is a bit of trek for servicing, I figured I get a good days ride and wont be seeing them more than once a year !

great one SOOTYGULL.. just enjoy Gn2 im worse done 1460 miles since bought in may but no commute riding so just enjoying myself

sootygull warm er up and then just enjoy the roll of throttle, which is more satisfying to ride in my opinion than the larger capacity scoots

I arranged my Forza's 600 mile service before I even collected it because if I hadn't done so I would have had a wait.
It was done two weeks after I collected it.
The Forza has been on the road since mid September last year, mileage is approaching 13,000 miles, so averaging almost 1000 miles a month.

you doing well with your forza gn2.. a great tool for your needs, your our forza test rider for longevity of ownership miles wise, generally as long as a scoots been oil serviced etc as required then it should last. be safe

Been using my J300 continuously - I'm a bit over 4000 miles now. I've had a couple of small niggles, such as it sometimes churns a bit on a re-start if less than a couple of minutes after turning-off, but on the whole I really can't complain at all. It is a good machine, no doubt about it.

On one J300 specific forum there are a few grumbles about the clutch which, err..., grumbles. My mate's Downtown does the same though and I have not seen any long term issues being reported with that scooter, which has been around for a while now. So instead of being worried I just use it as an excuse to take off sharply from every set of lights as the response is instant and strong. If you are harsh with the throttle it seems to help the clutch enagage smoother (that's my excuse and I am sticking with it).

BTW I'm getting a regular 76mpg, which is probably not disappointing given the mix of riding (tight filtering plus high speed motorway on every journey) and the above excuse for accelerating hard off the line!

stephen when i put 15gm dr pulleys in i used brake cleaner on the clutch which made the slow start offs like when it was new, got my dr pulley hit clutch now which i will be fitting soon just awaiting a 41mm half inch socket to arrive then i will post results, never had any issues with restarts, maybe the standard plug, the brisk plug performs great even an iridium plug would be better.
i too tend to use brisk take up of speed, be interesting to see how the dr pulley clutch works in locking its clutch kevlar linings with the bell with its extra pillow springs, as the scoot in stock revs straight to 7000 rpm will it now be a different
