OK Sorry, not scoot related at all, but this crash footage is amazing....and the guy survived with only moderate injuries!

You can see exactly what happened and why, and I wonder if I was in the same situation whether the same thing would have happened to me!

I know that stretch of motorway very well - it's fiendishly dangerous at the best of times. For most of the day there's a queue to get off the m/way so I'm surprised that even a crazy Belgian carried out such a foolish manoeuvre.

Another reason to not try and cross multiple lanes at the last minute.

I guess if you know the likely dangers, you'd know what to avoid, but I feel its exactly the sort of move I might make to get round lots of trucks to get into a gap to get into the right lane to leave the M-way...

Good she survived and good she didn't hurt anyone.
MrGrumpy you must be a bit mental if you are really saying you'd dive accross multiple lanes without a clear view of where you were going.

I've seen the video. I think she only survived because she was in a LHD car.

Not exactly - but it quite often happens on crowded M-ways and dual carriageways (especially on Urban M-ways with lots of junctions) that you have to search for a gap in the inside lane to pull into when you want to leave - trucks can be almost nose to tail. So if you spot a gap ahead you might go for that, and be completely unsighted by the trucks leading to the risk of the accident in the video.

My point was that that particular exit is almost always congested, with the queue at peak times extending back beyond the exit lane and on to Lane 1 of the motorway.
I suppose it's possible the driver was unfamiliar with the area - we will probably never know - but if she was she should have known better than to take such a risk.
