OOOH! Vicious!!!!gn2 wrote:That's like asking whether herpes is better than the clap.
To return to the original query, since Gilera and Aprilia are now part of the same organisation, with a centralised parts supply 'system', there really isn't likely to be any difference in parts availability. Historically, Piaggio/Gilera were a bit hit or miss, whilst Aprilia were hopeless.............

You'll get the same parts availability... same service most likely, and the electrics will be equally as dodgy...
But I'd go Aprilia... at least its a newer design.

My gp800 has been in at the dealers for last six weeks. I would go Japanese.
On a brighter note the gp800 is a serious performer when running properly but you need dealer support and the bikes are super rare so they lack experience

I would stay well clear of them unless you can work on them yourself as they are expensive to keep and parts aren't the easiest to get hold of.

Don't think so - I think the differences are pretty well cosmetic, though Aprilia played with some of the details & suspension settingsFunkycowie wrote:But I'd go Aprilia... at least its a newer design.
