Slightly interesting, if not very deep, review of tyre options for the mk3 & 4 Tmax, for anyone interested (in French).

They recommend the Metzeler Feelfree Wintec for all round use, but say the Pirelli Diablos don't last as long as the others - A Pirelli tyre with short life? Somethings never change!
I currently have the Bridgestone SCs on mine, which I'm very happy with - better grip in the merely damp than some previous B.stones, though probably as the review says, not quite as sporty as the BT11/12s

Re: TMax mk3/4 tyre reviews
mr grumpy maybe next time get the bridgestone sc eco tyres they have 15% less rolling resistance than the standard sc`s i am a convert to the bridgestone turanza tyres as my 2 ton 7 seater (family needs must) car could not afford new but my tyre guy got me some with 6mm tread for £40 each fitted as no point buying cheap make tyres as they dont last... they too have 15% less rolling resistance and i pootle around in it anyways ato b with the mods to the car i could get 46mpg with the other tyres at mixed motorway speeds now getting 50 to 51 mpg so they must work and quieter too.. so maybe the scoot sc eco tyres will do the sameMrGrumpy wrote:Slightly interesting, if not very deep, review of tyre options for the mk3 & 4 Tmax, for anyone interested (in French).

Re: TMax mk3/4 tyre reviews
...except that there's no mention of the SC Eco tyres on Bridgestone's UK website (on my very quick perusal). One wonders how much more the Eco would cost, as the SCs very nice tyres but they cost an awful lot of money as it is!michaelphillips wrote:ime get the bridgestone sc eco tyres they have 15% less rolling resistance than the standard sc`s i am a convert to the bridgestone turanza tyres as my 2 ton 7 seater (family needs must) car could not afford new but my tyre guy got me some with 6mm tread for £40 each fitted as no point buying cheap make tyres as they dont last... they too have 15% less rolling resistance and i pootle around in it anyways ato b with the mods to the car i could get 46mpg with the other tyres at mixed motorway speeds now getting 50 to 51 mpg so they must work and quieter too.. so maybe the scoot sc eco tyres will do the same

Re: TMax mk3/4 tyre reviews
I have Bridgestone SC's and my TMax has become more chuckable in to the corners both wet and dry, more grippy and more maneuverable than the original.
I have ridden a friends MK3 with MIchelin Sport SC's and found them less grippy, in fact the rear was quite squirrely, before he had these he had Pirelli's and they were worse.

Re: TMax mk3/4 tyre reviews
sorry they call it sc ecopia BATTLAX SC ECOPIA not sure on the cost though or sizes
but supposed to last longer as less rolling resistance of 15% should be same for 15% ish wear saving

Re: TMax mk3/4 tyre reviews
This is odd - I can now find a reference to the ecopia version on Bridgestone's UK website, but when I click on the link, it takes me to the Dutch language page on it! Same happens for other tyres as well. Must be a teach yourself Dutch lesson.......The Oponeo prices look reasonable (as these things go!), though is tax / shipping extra?michaelphillips wrote:sorry they call it sc ecopia BATTLAX SC ECOPIA not sure on the cost though or sizesbut supposed to last longer as less rolling resistance of 15% should be same for 15% ish wear saving

Oponeo website prices are usually inclusive of VAT and delivery.

Re: TMax mk3/4 tyre reviews
The michelin sport sc`s are old hat now but still better than the pirellie diabolicals , but the michelin power pure sc are really very nice . I have also heard great things about the metzeler wintec .
