Used to be a TdF fan but have mixed feelings about it now due to all the drug scandals.

The best thing about the Tour is that they have resurfaced the roads for it.
There is a beautiful stretch (A6024) between Holmfirth and Woodhead Pass that had massive holes and ruts in it but is now silky smooth.
Group ride?

My brother in law lives in Ilkley, the roads there will be closed for twelve hours so there is a need for careful planning and detailed knowledge of the minor roads/rat runs !
