Just got this emailed to me -
Hi Des,
Just to let you know the new Xciting 400i scooters are now in the UK. They will be delivered out to the dealers this week, I am sorry but the nearest one to your is still quite a travel. If you give them a call I am sure they will let you know when it is in the showroom.

Re: kymco 400s have arrived apperently!
What a strange company - they have no idea where their own dealers are!
According to Kymco's own website, there are Kymco dealers in Esh Winning (Durham Bikes) and even on Teesside (Marshalls of Eston). Never had any dealings with either, but Marshalls are mostly a secondhand car dealer which doesn't give you much confidence.
Maybe the person at Masco is confusing Newcastle under Lyme with Newcastle upon Tyne......

Am I alone in thinking that in that photo it looks more like the Kawasaki J300 than the Downtown which the J300 is based on?

It might be that the 400 will only be sold and serviced by certain dealers. Piaggio did that when the Master engine came out.

It certainly looks Sporty!
Here's a (Euro-English) comparison review of the Xciting 400i, Xmax 400 and the X10 350:
