Looks good, but how much extra do they charge you for lower rolling resistance?? Its not as if B.stones are a cheap option anyway.....
I've got the normal SC (I presume) on the mk4 Tmax and its a fab tyre - a small but distinct step up from the BT11/12 they used to sell. Lets hope the ECOPIA version maintains all the positive virtues of the normal SC!

I have not tried the sc Bridgestone due to being unavailable for the srv front and Bridgestone do not do any other 16 " comparable tyre . I did when switching to maxi scoots find it shocking at the tyre prices with many being more expensive than the equivalent version for a bike . I would expect this new tyre to be on par with most others on the market these days . I do think it's now more of a personal choice thing these days rather than one is far superior to another .

true Ferret.. as soon as you go to h rated tyres and radials the price seems to double, there cost is not relative to the amount of rubberFerret wrote:I have not tried the sc Bridgestone due to being unavailable for the srv front and Bridgestone do not do any other 16 " comparable tyre . You would expect smaller circles cost less ,but actually cost more or the same as 17" but also wear out quicker as the required rotations are more to travel the same distance lol

Probably not, We don't know if its less rubber without weighing itmichaelphillips wrote:... there cost is not relative to the amount of rubber
But I doubt if that is the big factor in setting the price
Different compounds/manufacturing processes will vary costs
Rarity means that the cost of development, tooling and promotion is shared over fewer sales - each sale has to come with a bigger part of those costs compared to a tyre that sells bucket loads
WE ARE THE BURG resistance is futile

True, but although Maxis are a minority thing in the UK, in mainland Europe Maxis (especially TMAxs) sell by the 000 - The Tmax is one of the top selling PTWs of all. Thus Tmax tyres DO sell bucketloads (especially at the rate they wear out!).Bluebottle wrote:Rarity means that the cost of development, tooling and promotion is shared over fewer sales - each sale has to come with a bigger part of those costs compared to a tyre that sells bucket loads

That's good mileage from the TH01.
The only specific knowledge I have is from the heavier Burger 650 that also ran TH01 originally. I switched to the Mich Pilot Sport SC and enjoyed improved drop-in as the profile is far more rounded, that may not be something you especially need on the Nexus, but it was also quite a bit cheaper and still appears to be.
