This is a bit random but has anybody ever tried heating pads or similar for the footrests on a scoot? What with heated grips and seats has nobody thought it worthwhile? Obviously I am as hard as nails but I thought someone might benefit.

Gerbing do a heated insole for you boots as part of their heated clothing range

Yes I've seen the heated insoles, same idea as heated gloves but the flat floor boards of the Scoot would lend themselves to heated elements for convenience. My company is just entering the heated flooring market with a flat heating element and that's what started me wondering. Of course its 240v mains. Maybe its not possible with 12v electrics?

You have to consider of heat amount blown away plus heat has to penetrate boots also power output of the stator .

I would have thought the soles of normal boots and shoes would be too much insulation to let the heat through from heated boards.

There have been air cooled vehicles that blow warm air from the engine cooling shrouds to give you a variable heater similar to what Meldrew is saying.

I have some Keiss heated insoles for my boots( along with the vest and gloves) i haven't had to use them this winter as it has not been cold enough. I put some lambswool insoles in my boots and they have been enough. :)

The Maxsym 400 & 600 abs and I believe some other brands have a heater vent fitted to the footwell. Looking forward to toasty winter riding next year

Agreed. The idea of heating vents is probably the best option. Sym are going to try the idea? It will be very interesting to find out how effective they are. If you think about it wasted warm air blowing onto your feet in winter could be very attractive to potential commuters.

Yes it does seem a good idea, its been on the 400 abs from the start but sadly we are only just getting the abs version here so mine does not have it but my new 600 will. I ride with a Tucano cover in the winter which should keep the heat in and directed to where its needed. I have to say I was not sure about getting one of these covers and it took a while to get used to it. However I work shifts and apart from the worst of the windy days I have used the scoot all the time to commute and its been the best commute ever with me remaining warm and dry so I have to say I have become a bit of a convert.

The Joymax has a heat outlet as well. But unsure how effective it will be. Find out soon though!
